Google mobile tracking api

We run an on-call business with about 100 drivers.

I want to track these 100 drivers, but I'm not ready to go for GPRS and any other expensive work, so I want to track these people with my mobile.

That is, I have all these mobile driver numbers. Is there a way to find his / her real location using any Google API?

Please tell me the google mobile tracking API.

Simple mobile phone tracking without any dedicated app running on the phone and no data connection (GPRS) might not be for regular users. (This is technically possible, but it is only possible for mobile operators and even then, only when handling requests from law enforcement agencies). All those bits you see in the movies where they track the pipe are works of fiction.

The only way to track cell phones is to report their location via GPRS / EDGE or another cellular data service.

Adapting Google Latitude might be possible, but again, all of your drivers installing the software will be required, giving you permission to view their location updates, and then the recurring data costs to connect to Latitude servers and update their locations.

There are others who can provide transponders that you can install in your vehicles that will do all of this for you, but of course they will charge you for it.
