Application block for embedding applications in real world applications?

PIAB from Microsoft Enterprise Library looks like it could be used for some pretty cool stuff. Many people have asked how this would be done in real-world applications due to the use of remote point-based interception methods. I haven't heard much about this lately and I'm wondering if anyone has a good or bad experience in terms of performance to share.
