Crystal XI R2 Server SP5 ... which msi file?

Since BO and Crystal support stinks quite a bit when it comes to finding an answer, I thought I'd try to post it here. We have some problems with Crystal Reports on the server and I would like to fix it before SP5. I finally found the download (and even then I got confused about whether to use SP5 or FP 5.2, so I guess I'll put SP5 first and then try another one. To my question ... When you unzip the SP5 file you end up with two. msi files (CrystalReports11_5_Net.msi and CrystalReports11_5_Net_2005.msi).

We currently have Crystal Reports XI Release 2 installed. Net 2005 server installed. Looking at this, I would assume it would be the _2005.msi file, but I would still like to know the difference in the two files.

Any ideas?

It looks like you somehow got hold of the full installer (including SP5), but yes, the VS 2005 version is the _2005 file and the other version is for VS.NET 2002 or 2003. See here for more information.



I can't find an offline or incremental SP5 download (it doesn't surprise me), so you might need to uninstall / reinstall using the file you found.

FP stands for Fix Pack, very similar to Cummulative Updates for Windows. When upgrading BO, you must run SP5 installation and then run FP.
