Nested pages in the "Manage pages" mode of the "Slide type" type
On the screen Manage Pages
in the Movable Type admin area, can pages be embedded or reach any page hierarchy? Essentially I need to mirror the structure of the site.
I would also like to order the pages, not the published date, but in a meaningful order - that is, the order I need to appear on the website.

Yes, create "Folders" in Movable Type and then put the pages into folders.
Be sure to place a page with a file name index
or index template (or other template) in each folder so that when you access a folder without a file name, the page is displayed.
I hope MT gets rid of the Folders function and just has a parent-child relationship between pages in the future.
