Compaq Visual Fortran Install on Vista?

Has anyone successfully installed Compaq Visual FORTRAN 6.x on Vista?

Tried it the other day but had no luck so just wondering fatigue on this compiler.

Thanks again.

To answer the main question and follow a few comments.

Intel® Visual Fortran Composer XE 2011 Vista support officially depreciated as of March 3, 2011 update. Newer versions support Windows 7. Until this point, Vista was supported (and from what I hear, it still works, although I don't have it since my OS can't install it like that).

Compaq Visual Fortran which is "the same line" as MS Fortran Powerstation, then Digital, then Compaqs and now Intel is no longer supported by any modern OS, although I can attest that it works well on XP SP3. Since this was discontinued a while ago, I would not expect it to run on Vista or Win7 without trying.

This is for the IDE part only, the compiler itself works okey.

If you want to get started with the customization process, the experience of these people might be of value to you.

I heard that if you right click on the settings icon and click "Run as administrator" then it will work. Good luck. I am trying to find fortran for Vista still ...

You can always run a virtual machine with whatever OS it was written for. Not the most elegant solution, but it doesn't look like Vista, it is the best operating system. Have you ever considered upgrading to XP?
