Compiling a C ++ interface

I figured out the solution. I didn’t add -combine to my compilation instructions and it was generating errors.


I am working on Deitel and Deitel C ++ book. How to program and faced the problem of creating and compiling a C ++ interface with g ++. The problem is that I have declared the class in the .h file and defined the implementation in the .cpp file, but I cannot figure out how to get it to compile and work when I try to compile the test file I wrote. The g ++ error I am getting:

Undefined symbols:
  "GradeBook::GradeBook(std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> >)", referenced from:

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be grateful.

It looks like you just need to link the GradeBook.cpp object file to your final executable. Organize your file or how to create it?

What you see are linker errors (the pointer is in the "ld received" bit: ld is the linker). You need to either pipe all .cpp files to g ++ for it to compile and link them or use the last -c switch to make .o from .cpp and then use THAT.o to further g ++ command to build (link) executables files.
