Team Foundation 2010 Beta - Get Rid of Unused Fields (Migration Plan)
Download it now and wondered if anyone else has moved the existing custom process template (work item types, work items, and source control) to beta.
Our custom process template has "evolved" over the past few years, and I know it has unused fields. Do you think if I set up another server by adding our custom process template, would I be able to move our existing work items and source as a test? we will keep 2008 for daily development.

On your new server instance, you will be able to move a copy of the latest version of the files from version control and migrate your work items by taking the new version of the process templates and placing the fields you want, then adding data for the current work items (I usually use Excel for bulk import). However, you will lose history for both version control and work item tracking.
When TFS2010 ships out, I expect there to be directions for people looking to update existing templates to have new functionality and integrate with new elements of test work, etc.
