Using Vista under a virtual machine to test applications

Does anyone know how to install Vista UPGRADE version on a virtual machine? Id like to use it for testing with older .NET versions, but it won't let me install the update version. I would rather not install XP and then update it. Its licensed legal copy with CD-Key and that's it. It just doesn't install on an empty VM because its version is updated.

WARNING: The following violates your EULA

Install Vista without using a serial number and select the base version and deselect automatic activation.



After installation, reinstallation and now you can use your serial number and update.
