Ease of use - how to edit favorites?

I would like to get some opinions on usability in the following case:

  • Target group of people between 30 and 50 years old, with medium to medium affinity.

  • Application: I have a website with a login. Visitors can save money by intercepting pages in their fav window for quick access.

  • Here's the real question: how do you edit favorites? Is it better to give visitors direct drag / dropn access and remove their favs or is there an edit button so they activate the edit mode sooner? The Fav-link will look like this:

| link text for clicks | icon-drag | icon-delete |

For weak internet proximity I would say KISS. Have a VERY visible and easy launch of the "Edit Favorite Links List" button.

Not a link - not just action links - is a bad idea in general (see Nielsen and various SO links vs button links), but for the target audience, ease of clicking is even more important.

I would also make the edit mode either a popup or modal sprite (large size) so that the elements of the editing functionality can be made large, obvious and easy to access.
