Pointing a Domain to a Subscription-Based Web Application?

I'm about to start building a subscription-based site that will function the same as 37signals offers from the perspective of users paying a monthly fee to use the site.

But in my case, I would like them to be able to use their own domain names and point them to my server.

Is it possible? How do I associate a domain name with my account on my server?

Thank you, honey!

EDIT: This site will be built using PHP

It should be possible.

You need to force the user to set up an A or CNAME record to point their domain name to your server.

You didn't say which language you are developing the site in, but most languages should let you know the host requested, for example in PHP you should use $ _SERVER ['HTTP_HOST'] which will return the request domain.

You can then use this to customize the experience accordingly.
