Python training

I want to understand python by writing a small requirements management system. I know C, C ++, PHP, JQuery, etc. (All the basics) - which web host provides the correct platform (with PostgresSQL?) And which MVC should I use (Django?) ... I know coding, but want to learn python - not reinvent existing functionality or work like it doesn't similar to python - like so:

  • best source (python.org?)
  • best book
  • best web hosting
  • best mvc (please no religious wars mvc)

The best book to learn Python if you're an experienced programmer is Dive Into Python . You can get it for free online or buy a paper copy if you like.

Most people prefer Django as a web framework, but there are alternatives like TurboGears . There's a free book about Django on the web.

If you are looking for a cheap website for the Django Google App Engine site , perhaps follow.

"Most" is based on my own experience, not any survey.

The best book for me is Learning Python . It is complete, understandable and even updated.

For web hosting, have a look at Webfaction . You get a shell, and Postgres (or MySQL) and Django are available as one-click installations.

I just started python (in the last few days) coming from a basic C background. I found the best way is to start a Python site. From there, I read a little Dive into Python, which is a free book.

After that, I rewrote dispatcher.py in mod_python to understand the python / Apache relationship. Python is a great language, with great tools and tricks. Look at the existing code for how they use getattr () and other functions.

You already know most of this word, just new syntax and some added semantics. Same old stuff, different package.

You might want to subscribe to the Tutor Python mailing list . People there are always helpful and answer even the most "newbies" (does this word exist?) Questions.
