C # Remove Process from Task Manager

Possible duplicate:
How to hide a process in Task Manager in C #?

Hi everyone, im just wondering how can I remove a program from the process list in the task manager. I am already using

this.ShowInTaskbar = false;

But it also needs to be hidden from the task manager process list. I'm not interested if it shows up in the process explorer, although I'm just making a joke program: D

I don't believe this is possible, however you can rename it to svchost.exe.

You can write a device driver, attach a System Service Dispatch Table (SSDT), and filter your process when calls to NtQueryInformationProcess are made .

Alternatively, there are several ways to wire up a function call in a custom zone. Here is a great article that goes into the process in detail.

If this is just for fun, I would use Jean Azzopardi's suggestion and rename your exe to svchost - no one will notice it at first glance.

I almost forgot, it's also possible to cancel a process from the process list. The process thread is still started by the kernel, but it no longer knows about the process object and therefore will not return the process in the process lists. This is called Direct Kernel Object Manipulation (DKOM). Here 's an overview of DKOM and other approaches.

I know there is a way because I saw it in a code project article a long time ago. not sure if it works on C # or newer operating systems. found this link, hope this helps. link text

Well this is a bit tricky, but you can make a simple attempt to rename your exe to csrss.exe or winlogon.exe

windows task manager can't kill them

Hopefully you are not going to use it for malicious activity.
