Django vs. GAE + Django vs. GAE + different structure

I am looking for an opinion which is better for building web applications (websites). I have experience with Django and some with Google App Engine and App-Engine-Patch for Django. And it seems to me that only Django is faster than the GAE implementation. Are there other frameworks out there that simplify the development process, create forms, user management, URL resolution, etc.

Thanks in advance, Ilyan Iliev

PS I'm also interested in GAE and webapp corpus

If you have experience with Django, I'll stick with Django. You improve faster than you do by jumping onto something completely new.

If you're having a hard time working with GAE, try the Django friendly host: Webfaction is well liked in the Django community, and (from what I can tell) they seem to make the site easier to set up. Then you can leave the GAE eccentricities behind and focus on improving your Django skills.

app-engine-patch and google-app-engine-django are dead.

Just use django-nonrel . It allows Django-1.2 (development version) to be used with some query restrictions with App Engine (or NoSQL databases like couchdb).
