Can I run Erlang without local admin rights on Windows?

I have a machine that doesn't give me local admin rights. Is it possible to run erlang on it since I cannot run the Windows.exe installer to install erlang?

You can copy the erl.exe file (plus the runtime system and any required libraries) from another installation and run it without having to install it. As long as you are allowed to execute files, you should be fine.

Forgive me for not being as smart as Zubair, but I would like to know exactly how to do it. I do not have administrator rights, the installers cannot run, and I cannot copy files to C: \ WINDOWS. In particular, I cannot write to C: \ WINDOWS \ WinSxS or C: \ WINDOWS \ system32.

How do I get a list of what libraries are required for different erlang executables?

I have all the MS redistributable libraries and manifests, but I don't know where to get them to work. The redistributable library structure has directories like Microsoft.VC90.ATL, Microsoft.VC90.CRT, etc. Each directory contains a corresponding DLL and manifest.

Copy all content to ERL_HOME \ bin or ERL_HOME \ erts-xyz \ bin or ERL_HOME \ erts-xyz \ lib? or leave them in some other directory and put these entries in PATH? or do I need to build the paths specified by the manifest (i.e. where they will be copied to the WinSxS cache) using hashes and version numbers in the paths and then put those entries in the PATH?
