Read-only checkbox in Silverlight

How can I check a read-only checkbox in Silverlight? Accessibility requirements are required in order for the screen reader to read data when the user enters data through the control. Here's what I've tried so far:

  • IsEnabled = True is inappropriate because the control cannot receive the focus required by the screen reader
  • IsHitTestVisible = False is inappropriate because you can still change the value by pressing the spacebar when it has focus
  • IsTabStop = False is not appropriate because you can still change the value by clicking the checkbox on it
  • For other controls like TextBox, I used the IsReadOnly property, but that doesn't seem to be available in the CheckBox.

Could you always return a Checked value when it changes? You could even regain control so that the normal state looks like an inactive state.
