Is ASP.Net Server Control, Postback Architecture Failed in the Current Web 2.0 World
What I am looking at is a drastic change in the ASP.Net architecture. More and more companies are taking the approach
JSON based wcf service in middle tier. Simple HTML frontend with jQuery / Ajax.
No postback at all, this is contrary to Asp.Net Server Control / Code Behind Event / Postback behavior. I have been an Asp.Net web developer for 4 years and am concerned about the future of ASP.Net.
Is ASP.Net's default architecture obsolete? MVC or ASP.Net 4.0 trying to solve the problem?

Error is a bit of a strong word for ASP.NET. Disadvantages is probably the best word. MVC certainly solves the problems you raised. And more. Yes, the ASP.NET standard architecture is now deprecated. The fact that ASP.NET MVC sits on top of ASP.NET means that you can still use ASP.Net's performance features and any legacy code you have in ASP.Net until the point where you can create your own. a site in MVC is faster than you can in ASP.NET. This will happen very quickly.
