Can I generate svn file automatically after adding it?

Is it possible to configure svn to automatically set the property svn:keywords

after svn adding a file?

That is, when I add a file to svn, I usually do it with two steps:

svn add someNewFile.foo
svn propset svn:keywords "HeadURL Revision Author Date Id" someNewFile.foo

and I would like the second step to be done automatically for me by svn.

You should look at the function svn:auto-props

. Details can be found here and here .
Note, however, that this is a client function, that is, it is not executed by the server, but by each client. This means that each client must change their configuration. This flaw is also explained in the links provided.

Yes, you can use your client svn client config.

 /home/user/.subversion/config


There you will find a section with auto-details. That's the area where you can tweak this behavior, but will only work for added files as you mentioned.
