How do you retrieve data from date / time widget from MFC CFC dialog in VS2008

This is a pretty basic question, but I was unable to find any of the-> guides from VS6-> VS2008. I have a dialog box containing various types of controls, I discovered a way to automatically create OnBnClickedMyFooBarButtonHere () methods through the Properties dialog of the dialog editor.

I can also use CWnd :: GetDlgItemText (int, CString &) to retrieve text, and weirdly parameterized GetDlgItemInt (int, bool *, bool) to retrieve signed integers, but there is no other option for Date or time value other than

  • Manually add to all DDX_ shit that Masterclass used for VS6
  • Using GetDlgItemText and then parse whatever it gives me?

Is there a standard approach to this?

In the past I have done "DDX_DateTimeCtrl (pDX, IDC_DATETIMEPICKER2, m_TimePicker);" in overriding DoDataExchange it seems a bit odd that there is no direct analogue.

What kind of control have you used before to get the date and time? Basically, any 32-bit ActiveX control should still be used (in much the same way) with a newer version of VS.
