Reporting Services Pie Chart

Pie chart annoys me ... Sorry if I don't know, but I figured out other RS charts with ease and this is the first time I have had to use a Reporting Services pie chart.

I have a dataset:

Columns:
ChildId int
ScoreType varchar
Score int

All I want is to have a pie chart showing the percentage of the whole for each grade. So, if I had 10 records returned with the following:

2 "THIS" Assessment types
5 "THIS" Assessment types
3 "THEOTHER" Assessment types

I would like the pie chart to show that the w140 score for the score is 20%, "THAT" is 50%, "THEOTHER" is 30%, but I cannot figure out how to set it up, Can anyone help me with this or direct me somewhere. I've searched for a while and can't find any pages that helped me with this control.

I figured it out ... To show the percentage:

  • Right click on the diagram and click on properties.
  • Go to the table "Data", select "[Value]" and click "Change".
  • Click the Point Labels tab and check Show Point Labels.
  • In the format code enter P
  • Edit the expression and calculate your percentage. For my example, I would use the below code.

    =Count(Fields!ChildId.Value) / Count(Fields!Childid.Value, "MyDataset")

The problem I am facing is that I was filtering the dataset at the chart level using a filter expression. So when I tried to calculate the percentage using the code below, my numbers were dropped. The filter does not apply the dataset count when retrieving as I did.

 Count(Fields!Childid.Value, "MyDataset")
