Free implementation of multilayer perceptron?
Is there a free (preferably a generic or BSD-type license, but GPL) implementation of a layered perceptron anywhere in the network?
I have sample tutorials, but the licenses are too restrictive, and while I may just follow the math in the Wikipedia articles, I'm not sure if everything is correct and difficult to verify.
I did a quick google search and found some free (beer-like) binaries. I hope to find MLP which is part of a larger open source project.

FANN (Fast Artifical Neural Network Library) is an excellent general purpose neural network library written in C but has bindings for almost any language you might need (C ++,. NET, Python, Mathematica, and others). Better yet, it is open source and licensed under the LGPL, so I would assume that would be good for you.
Neuron.NET is another good alternative if you are using .NET (also open-source), although it is licensed under the GPL.
Hope it helps.

Take a look at http://neuralensemble.org/trac/PyNN ! This is a unified layer for many different free simulations like BRIAN, NEST, NEURON, etc.
