Graphical relationship map for doctrine / mysql?

I wonder if there are gui tools to create a graphical map for the relationship between models / objects (doctrine) or tables (mysql)?

it would be better than drawing by hand.

I already have models / objects and tables created.

Try MySQL Workbench . It has a screen for creating model diagrams from a SQL script or from a live database.

For completeness, I'll add a Power Architect recommendation for the following reasons:

  • platform and independent from DB, i.e. you get a return on your investment in learning how to use it with every database you use.
  • it can reverse engineer an existing DB
  • it can manage differences between model and DB (generate scripts, update DB directly, etc.).
  • the model editor is focused on efficiency: robust key bindings for important model elements, mostly flawless tab navigation ...
  • - FOSS

For projects using Doctrine, try our Skipper tool - formerly ORM Designer (I'm the main developer). It is intended for visual development using ORM structures. Therefore, it supports all Doctrine properties and you don't need to deal with the database and SQL layer.

  • You can import, visualize and edit existing circuits,
  • or you can import data from MySQL Workbench,
  • or you can design an ERD from scratch and generate schematics from it.
