HTTPS connection fails with error IOException: "APN not specified" (Blackberry)

My Java ME Midlet works fine on Java phones and BlackBerry simulator, but I can't get a connection on BlackBerry. I see a message that asks for permission to connect, but when I select yes it doesn't connect and instead throws an IO exception with an APN message that is not specified. Does anyone know why this might fail?

Could there be a resolution issue on your device?



  • Open Options / Security / App Permissions
  • Choose your app name
  • Select "Edit Permissions" from the menu
  • Configure security permissions for "Allow" for all categories.
  • Save changes
