How do I make a median filter on an indexed image using MATLAB?

medfilt2(img)

does not take a parameter map

so I don't think it can work well with an indexed image,

how do i impelemnt a median filter that can be used to process indexed images?

B = medfilt2(A, 'indexed', ...)

treats A as an indexed image, padding 0s if class A is uint8, or 1s if class A is double.
