Automatically Restarting an Option Selection Report in Reporting Services

In Microsoft Reporting Services 2005, I would like my report to refresh every time the value of the sql parameter is changed by the viewer.

How can I do that? More generally, how can I force certain actions to be updated (usually with the click of a button)?

I believe the best way to update the report is to do the following:

  • Do ReportViewer.Reset ()
  • Set ReportDefinition again in the ReportViewer control.
  • Do ReportViewer.RefreshReport ()


You can write the above logic into a function and then call the function whenever an event occurs.
