Testing Browser Compatibility with Visual Studio and ASP.NET Applications

I am currently testing IE7 browser compatibility for an application that I originally used to use with Firefox. At the time in our organization, the assumption was that we could get everyone to use Firefox, but that was questioned, so here I am. As a result, I used many Firefox features and attributes that I need to check and replace with equivalents. In order to do this, I found that I needed to do heavy javascript debugging to find incompatible areas.

We use Windows exclusively here, so I don't need to test compatibility on other operating systems, at least not yet.

To immediately debug the code changes, I need to run the test locally, but if I press F5, it opens in Firefox until I change the default browser.

Is there a way in Visual Studio to specify that a debug session should be opened in a specific browser, and also a way to quickly change this, or, conversely, is there a package or script that can be used to quickly change the default browser?

Also, any other tips for testing browser compatibility?

You can use Selenium to automate browser testing, and you can do this with both IE and Firefox (you create tests using FF, then launch (almost) any browser)

This will be my approach.

There are two options on the File menu:

Browser View (Ctrl + Shift + W) View With ... (which allows you to select a browser)

You can use the latter to set your default browser when you're ready to switch to IE. It also allows you to set browser sizes.
