Converting from SQL Server 2000 to 2005 for ASP.NET Web Application

I am moving my ASP.NET site to a new provider. The only problem is that the old host supports my SQL Server 2000 db. The new host only supports SQL Server 2005. How do I upgrade to conversion? Can I just back up a 2000 (.bak) file on the old host and restore that file in SQL Server 2005 to the new host? Or is there even more?

Note that I do not have my own copy of SQL Server 2005 at home ... and I am trying not to.

Generate deployment scripts using the " Publish Database Wizard " for your Sql200 database and select the target dataabse type as "SQL2005" It should work flawlessly, as we have experienced in the past.

A simple backup restore is sufficient. This works great for me.

Are you using Data Transfer Services (DTS)? This SQL Server 2000 feature cannot be migrated directly to SQL Server 2005. You will need to migrate your DTS packages to SQL Server Integration Services.
