How to find syslog on an AIX machine
1 answer
Start with:
man syslogd
and go from there.
Or you say it /etc/syslog.conf
doesn't exist.
If it is, it should be able to tell you where all the log files are. If it isn't, you need to figure out how it was started syslogd
:
- by looking at his entry from
ps
; or - by looking at the entry
/etc/rc.d
that started it.
