Custom product cases in Magento?
Setting up a Magento store for a winery. They have good bottles of wine, but you can only order bottles in case of wine. There are 12 bottles of wine in the case and you can make custom.
So the user could select 4 Chardonnay, 6 Merlot and 2 Shiraz to make case 12. But they couldn't just select 4 Chardonnay and 6 Merlot. Orders must be multiples of 12.
Is there any way in Magento via default functionality or extension to enforce this requirement in my Magento store?

I haven't seen this specific functionality, but you could use a set with user-defined quantities, with some custom logic added to enforce multiples. This is most likely your fastest way to do this.

EDIT: Resources on how to set up a package are a little thin on the web. I found an old video from the release of bundles that covers the basics.
The quick story is that you need to set up a package with items that are labeled "user-defined qty" that will display a qty field for every block that is defined this way. Then grab the inputs when the form submits and rejects it if the count doesn't add up to a multiple of 12.
Once considered, pricing kits in this way cannot be trivial unless you provide an agreed upon price for each bottle of wine. for example, you cannot easily jump from 1 to 2 dozen.

What you are trying to do is what I call a "custom package". The base bundle product will deal with 12 bottles. Then you can customize the bottles included.
There is no way to do this with Magento. In my previous position, we tried to do this with custom clothing. The basic package would be an empty shirt. Then you tried to customize the shirt with screen printing, embroidery, etc.
We have finished creating / managing a custom object in the cart. Then we had to write some kind of custom pricing system for the cart.
I know this feature has been discussed for a long time.
