CMS -WYSIWYG for dummies
So, I'm working on a project for my company that allows users to create their own web pages. So, for example, real content managers who know what they are doing make all the pages of the homepage. The user can then create their own page describing what they are doing and exchange items with others. Now the catch is that these users have zero, and I mean zero web experience. The goal would be for me to make 10 templates that they can choose and then they can drop and drag a thing to make a web page. I have looked at items like Ektron and other CMS systems, but the cost per user and the number of our users in thousands. Except for creating an entire custom CMS with an easy-to-use WYSIWYG editor,is there anything that could help? I know there are WYSIWYG editors out there, but I'm just trying to get some ideas. Also, I used DNN, and while it can do everything, I think it is too difficult for my group.
Thank,
Jojo

How about OpenWYSIWYG ... (Opensource :)). I haven't tried it, but it looks like it's worth checking out ..
I'm not sure if the Wiki is the solution for your scenario. But if you think so, MediaWiki is another useful product.

Personally, I would avoid OpenWYSIWYG; the documentation is not great and it hasn't been updated after a while.
I would suggest looking at YUI Rich Text Editor

You are requesting "bulk factory sites". Not all CMSs have been designed for such business processes.
Note that your requirement is classic, but not trivial. Personal websites of thousands of users celebrate without causing performance issues if they are not well managed (in both edit and browse modes).
So, you should focus on a CMS designed for such requirements, but rather on those that are designed to support heavy workloads.
I can recommend Jahia (www.jahia.com, see my portal function http://www.jahia.com/jahia/Jahia/site/jahiacom/portal , price not based on user: http: // www. jahia.com/jahia/Jahia/Home/products/Pricing/pid/594 )
I agree that it is certainly not the only one designed for a webfactory (even if my favorite!), But you can watch an online demo and give your opinion.
