Changing the Redmine URL structure and adding other domains

I have installed a Redmine installation on a windows server using the BitNami stack.

I would like to

  • change the URL path that is currently used to access redmine ( www.example.com/redmine/...

    ), if possible, without physically moving the installation.

  • displays additional subdomains for specific projects ( www.example2.com

    pointing directly to what is currently in www.example.com/redmine/projects/projectname

    )

I am inclined towards configuring Apache, but new to Ruby / Rails and at the moment cannot delve into it as deeply as I want due to time constraints.

I would appreciate HOWTO pointers and good documentation on how to apply such changes to a standard setup. The list of config files I need to look into may already be working, I just don't know how to use a Ruby application yet.

The stack consists of

  • Redmine 0.9.3
  • Apache 2.2.14
  • MySQL 5.1.30
  • Ruby 1.8.7-2010.01
  • Rails 2.3.5
  • RubyGems 1.3.5

There is a pretty active forum for the BitNami stack there. Results of the first forum:

works through it now. Of course, additional input is appreciated.
