DotNetOpen Auth in IIS7; request not available

Recently, the company I work for started implementing OAuth in one of their web services. However, I ran into a rather unusual problem yesterday.

When debugging an application on a remote machine, I get the following error: "System.Web.HttpException: The request is not available in this context." Now when I first encountered this problem, I found that it was usually due to the fact that I cannot use the HttpContext Object in the Application_Start method for Global.cs, so I removed all references to this object from the method (as described here; http : //mvolo.com/blogs/serverside/archive/2007/11/10/Integrated-mode-Request-is-not-available-in-this-context-in-Application_5F00_Start.aspx )

However, the problem persists when running the code on a remote control computer (which has IIS7 Configuration Manager installed). Moreover, the stack trace refers to a path named "C: \ rws \ lib \ dnoatst.net4 \ Samples \ ZuydOAuthServiceProvider \ Code \ Global.cs" which doesn't make any sense to me because the actual files are on D: \ disk. I cannot find a link to this path anywhere in the source code.

Does anyone have any experience with this specific problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

After some testing, it seems like there is a solution to this problem, although not a perfect solution. Setting the managed pipeline mode for the application pool to "Classic" seems to do the trick, however I am somewhat concerned that this will cause problems at a later stage.

If anyone knows how to solve the problem described in my original post without using classic guided pipeline mode, I would appreciate it if you could share your thoughts.
