Visual Studio Solution for Two Versions of a Web Application
This is the problem.
We have a web app with two different versions, a full app and a light version. In it, most of the light version is a subset of the full version, which means that it uses the same web pages and links to the same binaries with the full version.
However, some pages of the full version should not be deployed with the light version, obviously, and some executables (libraries, etc.) should not be deployed with the full version.
If it was a windows application we could try to approach the problem at hand with preprocessor instructions, unfortunately this is not possible I guess. (please correct me if i'm wrong)
Anyway, what would be a good approach to this? Thanks to

Why not have one solution with two (or double what you have in one) projects.
In the Lite version, instead of a copy of the file, if you select Add Existing Item, the Add button has a small drop-down menu that will allow you to "link" to an existing file in the full version, rather than add a copy.
This can help with the "once" scenario.
Kindness,
Dan
